Roy Meats: Sign of the Times

Meatsphoto

His paintings have a common theme: his love, passion and fascination for the countryside.
Roy became a professional artist in 1983 and his paintings were in demand by all the leading brewery companies in the Midlands.
He produced pictorial signs for public houses as well as sign-writing inside and outside of these buildings. Some of these signs are still around today.
Roy has established himself in the North Warwickshire Community and is often commissioned to paint peoples portraits, families and pets.
He has also more recently, painted murals in the Father Hudson’s Homes in Coleshill, with further work commissioned on this site.
Roy was chosen by Dulux to appear on their stand at the last two Grand Design Exhibitions at the NEC. His remit was to re-create wallpaper using paint. He was then given a free licence to paint murals with different paint effects and finishes. He has found a medium that is original in the art world, using emulsion which he is now blending with acrylics for a more polished effect.
He has an eclectic mix of paintings, not all on canvas, paper or board - he uses furniture, walls, character cut outs, clocks and fire screens.
With the diversity of his work, Roy is able to attract a wide range of audience of all ages.
His exhibition at the G150 will show past and present work.
If you enjoy his paintings, you will also have the opportunity to purchase signed limited edition prints.
