Link to sample music to accompany this exhibition Lovelocks (2010) was taken on one of the many bridges in Paris, where lovers of all ages, attach their lock and throw the keys into the Seine, as a symbolic gesture of their commitment to each other.
Some images show a landscape from different perspectives at the same time, others show a single perspective at different times. All work is done by camera with digital darkroom edition. Creating images on film allows Louineau to capture the subtle nuances of light, while maintaining a link with reality. On a conceptual level, Louineau’s work deals with the conflict between our perception of permanence and the reality of impermanence. This series creates another way of thinking and also questions the seeming rigidity of our perception. Each set of black and white photographs are accompanied by the sound of atmospheric and musical compositions reproduced with custom framing – in an environment called ‘the wall’. Gallery 150 will be exhibiting a total of thirty images. Some of these images are printed on large-scale archival canvas. In fact, the interaction between the foreground and back ground, draws one into an intimate distance to explore, impacting the viewer both from across the room, as well as under very close inspection.

"Last night a little piece of Paris entered the Gallery150 Art Gallery in Leamington Spa. My favourite photo by Florian was the long expansive bridge photograph on canvas.
I love Paris and wanted to step into this scene with its Parisian energy and actually be there.
This, and other photos in the exhibition had a magnetic quality which draws the onlooker into its romantic and mysterious domain. An avant garde evening with the Parisian music, truly creating an atmosphere of life by the Seine. In one, professional and exciting!!"
